Detection of DCPD and Styrene in Heavy Hydrocarbon

Published: 4/25/2008

Prompted by frequent customer inquiries our Corpus Christi Laboratory has developed high precision procedures for detection of Styrene and DCPD in heavy residual fuels and Feedstock.

Using an excellent modern Gas Chromatograph analytical platform, coupled with powerful software the Corpus Christi Laboratory can now detect concentrations from a few parts per millions to weight percent of these troublesome contaminants of Styrene and DCPD.

Styrene Chain

It has long been known that certain byproducts from processing as well as fuel blending operations can sometimes involve these compounds in the final composition of residual hydrocarbons. Due to their nature of undesirable polymerization it is very advantageous to detect them to ascertain the harmful effects they may or may not present when marketing the final disposition for energy usage or feedstock processing.

Should this scenario arise in your day-to-day operations rest assured that CCC CC can now provide you with the peace of mind you may desire when marketing your products.

As always if you feel there are other unique characteristics of your operations that can be of particular concern feel free to contact us for remediation procedures.
